Close, one of the leading providers of International QROPS pensions based in Guernsey has today announced that it will adopt the Guernsey Code of Conduct with regards to QROPS.
Rex Cowley, Head of Marketing, said "Close introduced its own set of Code of Conduct in 2008, when QROPS was still in its infancy, to help provide customers with transparency in how the Close scheme would be managed. This was vital as it showed how the scheme would comply with HMRC rules. Close has been working as part of GAPP (Guernsey Association of Personal Pensions) and is pleased with the result, not just for Guernsey but for the QROPS market place as a whole. The code clearly sets apart Guernsey as a jurisdiction and will also give customers improved piece of mind when selecting providers who have signed up. The code operates a best practice approach and signing up is voluntary which should provide greater distinction for customers between firms who have and have not signed up. Today is a good day for QROPS."
