History

A trusted adviser for over 200 years.

Kleinwort Benson is one of the most historic names in private banking and investment management in the UK, with roots firmly founded in the merchant banking business established by the Kleinwort and Benson families in 1780's. During the 1980's we were the 'go-to' adviser in the industry and advised on many of the major privatisations of the era, including British Airways and British Telecom. Today we continue to offer the best of both worlds, the flexibility of a small boutique bank yet one which forms the cornerstone of a leading global financial group, with a strong service-driven culture.

Currently we have managed assets of over £21 billion, operating from our network of offices across the UK and the Channel Islands.
